Run with the Moose Success
Quincy Moose Lodge #2672 hosted the Moose District 15 fundraiser for the Special Olympics on Saturday, August 14, 2010. The Run with the Moose 5K Run/Walk started at 8:00 a.m. and ended with food and fun and games.

We had a modest turnout for the event despite the downpour of rain. We were able to raise over $1,000 for Special Olympics and earmarked $100 of that amount for the Gadsden County Special Olympics. We were so proud to have 7 Special Olympians present at the event who participated in the 5K Run. They all took 1st Place medals!

Help Mooseheart School win $500,000!!!
A Few Mouse Clicks Mean $500,000 to Mooseheart School ... or Not.

If, by just clicking a computer mouse a few times over five to ten minutes, you could send a HALF-MILLION DOLLARS to help Mooseheart's kids, you'd do it -- wouldn't you?

We sure hope so.

Thanks to Kohl's department stores, that's the opportunity we Moose members have!

Between now and Friday evening, September 3, by just "voting" for Mooseheart School as your "favorite school" on the "Kohl's Cares" page on Facebook, we Moose members can get that $500,000 from Kohl's Cares Foundation for Mooseheart School!

That's $500,000 we then WON'T need to ask from the men and women of the Moose to help operate Mooseheart's school this year!

If you have a Facebook account (easy to set up), if you're 13 or older, and you're a U.S. resident -- just go to http://apps.facebook.com/KohlsCares, follow the directions to vote the maximum allowed FIVE (5) times for Mooseheart School -- and that's all there is to it!

Please ask your spouse, your family and all your friends to do the same!

If Mooseheart School finishes among the top 20 schools in nationwide voting, we'll receive a Kohl's Cares check, payable to Mooseheart School, in the amount of $500,000!

It costs you $0 -- just a few minutes of your time! What an easy way to fulfill our membership obligation to "support Mooseheart with my energy and substance"!

PLEASE don't let this opportunity pass us by! Your Mooseheart students need you to vote, NOW!

Warm fraternal regards,
William B. Airey (Director General) and Scott Hart (Executive Director)

The Quincy Lodge hosted a benefit for Special Olympics for District 15 on August 14th. We were able to raise around $1000 for this cause. Also, we received some important publicity with articles in the Havana Herald and Gadsden County Times. T-shirts from this event are still available, and the proceeds with go to Special Olympics.

Our next big event is the Poker Run for MDA on Saturday, September 4th. Please come out and be a part of this event. All vehicles are welcome. If you don’t care to be in the event, we could use your help to cook and serve food or just welcome people to the lodge.

Of course, just as soon as the Poker Run is over, we will be in a rush to prepare our lodge for its first ever Moose Legion celebration. We can expect about 100 Moose Legionnaires and their guests to attend. The Celebration is October 1st, 2nd and 3rd. It will be here before we know it. We must put our best foot forward if we plan to be picked to host this event again. Our lodge will make more money that weekend then we will the rest of the month, so let’s get into this. With that in mind, please everyone show up on Saturday, September 11th for a lodge clean-up day to get ready.

Show how proud you are of our lodge. Let’s be ready to make sure that everyone feels at home and has plenty of room to park their cars and/or motorhomes for the Celebration weekend. We want them to enjoy our lodge and its friendly members.

Yours Fraternally,
Roy Rawlings, Administrator
